पिछले दिनों एक वरिष्ठ पत्रकार ने 'द कश्मीर फाइल्स' को लेकर बड़ी काम की बात कही। उन्होंने उक्त फिल्म में अनुपम खेर के गुस्से की तुलना अमिताभ की पहली हिट फिल्म जंजीर से की। सनद रहे कि इस फिल्म के पहले अमिताभ की एक के बाद एक कुछ फिल्में ऐसी पिट चुकी थीं, कि टूटे हुए अमिताभ ने मुंबई स्थित अपने एक कमरे का किराया चुकता करते हुए अपना बोरिया-बिस्तर बांधकर नई दिल्ली की वापसी के लिए ट्रेन की टिकट तक बुक करवा ली थी।
इसी बीच मंजे हुए अभिनेता मनोज कुमार ने उन्हें थोड़ा और रुकने के लिए मना लिया। उसके बाद अमिताभ ने विख्यात खलनायक स्व. प्राण के साथ फिल्म जंजीर में लीड रोल किया। इस फिल्म ने अमिताभ के महानायक बन जाने की प्रस्तावना तो लिख ही दी, फिल्म ऐसी ब्लॉकबस्टर साबित हुई कि अमिताभ एंग्री यंग मैन (गुस्सैल युवक) के तमगे से नवाजे गए।
उसके बाद अमिताभ ने अलग-अलग प्रकार के सैकड़ों रोल किए होंगे, लेकिन उनका उक्त स्वाभाविक गुस्सा फिल्म खाकी और फिल्म एक अजनबी में भी कायम रहा। यही असली रूप अनुपम की सबसे बड़ी अमानत है। द कश्मीर फाइल्स के महा से महा हिट होने के पीछे अनुपम का यह तड़प भरा गुस्सा ही सबसे बड़ा जायज़ कारण है। पुरानी और ताज़ा पीढ़ी को याद दिलाने की ज़रूरत नहीं है कि जय संतोषी मां फिल्म को देखकर दर्शक हॉल में पैसे तक उबारते थे। महिलाओं ने व्रत तक रखने शुरू कर दिए थे।

सीरियल रामायण में भगवान राम बने अभिनेता अरुण गोविल को सार्वजनिक रूप से देखकर लोग पैर पड़ने लगते थे, मगर फिल्म द कश्मीर फाइल्स के बाद जो लोगों में जो देश- भक्ति का जज़्बा आया है वैसा पहले तो कभी शायद ही किसी फिल्म को देखने के बाद आया हो। फिर वो फिल्म हकीकत हो या हाल के सालों में कश्मीर मसले पर आई शौर्य, उरी, शिकारा हो।
अनुपम खेर नेशनल स्कूल ऑफ ड्रामा के प्रॉडक्ट हैं। उन्हें अभिनय की चलती-फिरती पाठशाला भी कहा जाता रहा है। उनके हालात और तंत्र के प्रति अस्वीकार्यता बोध को सबसे पहले उनके मित्र प्रसिद्ध फिल्मकार महेश भट्ट ने सूंघा था। महेश भट्ट तब फिल्म सारांश की योजना पर काम कर रहे थे। पहले वे स्व. संजीव कुमार और स्व. स्मिता पाटील को लीड रोल में लेना चाहते थे।
अनुपम खेर का नाम भी उनके दिमाग में था, लेकिन स्थिति बड़ी पशोपेश भरी हो गई थी। इसी बीच अनुपम खेर को संजीव कुमार वाली बात पता चल गई। अनुपम की जब महेश भट्ट से व्यक्तिगत मुलाकात हुई तो अनुपम अपने इस दोस्त पर गुस्से में ऐसे उबल पड़े कि महेश भट्ट को उन्होंने श्राप तक दे डाला। बस महेश भट्ट का काम हो गया। वे फिल्म सारांश में एक लाचार बूढ़े के व्यवस्था के प्रति इसी गुस्से का तूफानी इजहार चाहते थे। उन्होंने तय कर लिया कि या तो अनुपम को लेकर ही सारांश बनाएंगे या नहीं। स्मिता पाटील की जगह भी रोहिणी हतंगड़ी को लिया गया।

अनुपम ने सारांश फिल्म में 27 वर्ष के होते हुए 67 वर्ष के जिंदगी से हारे हुए बूढ़े का रोल निभाकर शेक्सपियर की इस बात को खारिज कर दिया था कि नाम में क्या रखा है? नाम से यदि यह अदाकार अनुपम है, तो असली जीवन में उन्होंने असली किरदार निबाहने की हरचंद कोशिश की है। अभी कल की ही तो बात हो जैसे। उनकी दूसरी पत्नी किरण खेर को बोन मैरो हो गया था। इसे हड्डियों का कैंसर भी कहा जाता है।
कैंसर जैसी आतंकी बीमारी से भी किरण खेर के बाहर आ जाने के बारे में सोशल मीडिया पर उन्होंने लगातार पॉजिटिव पोस्ट लिखीं। और आज किरण खेर फिर से अपने दैनिक काम-काज में सक्रिय हो गई हैं। यह भी जान लें कि अनुपम और किरण दोनों ही तलाकशुदा हैं, लेकिन किरण के पहले पति से प्राप्त संतान को उन्होंने अपना अधिकृत पुत्र मानते हुए उसे सिकंदर नाम दिया है।
लंबे समय तक उनकी अपने टक्कर के अभिनेता और चिंतक नसीरुद्दीन शाह से कुट्टी रही, मगर जब नसीरुद्दीन शाह को तबियत ज़्यादा खराब होने के कारण मुंबई के अस्पताल में दाखिल किया गया था, तो नसीर साहब की मिज़ाज़पुर्सी के लिए अनुपम खेर भागे-भागे अस्पताल पहुंचे थे। ऐसे कई बुद्धिजीवी हैं जो अनुपम के भाजपा समर्थक या आरएसएस के बैक ग्राउंड का होने पर नाक-भों सिकोड़ते हैं।
पहली बात तो यह कि अनुपम खेर की पत्नी किरण खेर को चंडीगढ़ की जनता ने भाजपा की तरफ से लोकसभा में भेजा है। जिसने अनुपम की भाषण की क्लीपिंग सुनी और देखी है वो इस बात की ताईद करेगा कि जलते हुए अंगारे को खाली हथेली से उठाने की हिम्मत इस आदमी उर्फ़ अनुपम में है।

आरएसएस में तो अटलजी और आडवाणी जी भी रहे। यह तो वैचारिक स्वतंत्रता का तकाजा है। अनुपम खेर ने ही एक बुजुर्ग कांग्रेस का मंच से बेखटके नाम लेते हुए कहा था कि एक बीस-इक्कीस वर्ष की युवती को देखकर उक्त नेता ने कहा था क्या टंच माल है। जहां तक फिल्मी लोगों के राजनीति में आने का सवाल है तो अमेरिका के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति निक्सन, स्व. सुनील दत्त, शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा तक के ही नहीं, अब तो यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति जेलेन्सकी से लेकर पंजाब के नव-निर्वाचित मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान के नाम लिए जा सकते हैं।
