(जन्मदिन 28 सितंबर के अवसर पर)
मुंबई। लगभग छह दशकों से अपनी जादुई आवाज के जरिए बीस से अधिक भाषाओं में पचास हजार से भी ज्यादा गीत गाकर 'गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड' में नाम दर्ज करा चुकीं संगीत की देवी लता मंगेशकर आज भी श्रोताओं के दिल पर राज कर रही हैं।
इंदौर में 28 सिंतबर 1929 को जन्मीं लता मंगेशकर मूल नाम हेमा हरिदकर के पिता दीनानाथ मंगेशकर मराठी रंगमंच से जुड़े हुए थे। पांच वर्ष की उम्र में लता ने अपने पिता के साथ नाटकों में अभिनय करना शुरू कर दिया। इसके साथ ही लता संगीत की शिक्षा अपने पिता से लेने लगीं। लता ने वर्ष 1942 में 'किटी हसाल' के लिए अपना पहला गाना गाया लेकिन उनके पिता दीनानाथ मंगेशकर को लता का फिल्मों के लिए गाना पसंद नही आया और उन्होंने उस फिल्म से लता के गाए गीत को हटवा दिया।
वर्ष 1942 में तेरह वर्ष की छोटी उम्र में ही लता के सिर से पिता का साया उठ गया और परिवार की जिम्मेदारी लता मंगेशकर के ऊपर आ गई। इसके बाद उनका पूरा परिवार पुणे से मुंबई आ गया। हालांकि लता को फिल्मों में अभिनय करना जरा भी पसंद नहीं था, बावजूद इसके परिवार की आर्थिक जिम्मेदारी को उठाते हुए लता ने फिल्मों में अभिनय करना शुरू कर दिया।

वर्ष 1942 में लता को 'पहली मंगलगौर' में अभिनय करने का मौका मिला। वर्ष 1945 में लता की मुलाकात संगीतकार गुलाम हैदर से हुई। गुलाम हैदर लता के गाने के अंदाज से काफी प्रभावित हुए। गुलाम हैदर ने फिल्मनिर्माता एस. मुखर्जी से यह गुजारिश की कि वह लता को अपनी फिल्म शहीद में गाने का मौका दें।
एस मुखर्जी को लता की आवाज पसंद नहीं आई और उन्होंने लता को अपनी फिल्म में लेने से मना कर दिया। इस बात को लेकर गुलाम हैदर काफी गुस्सा हुए और उन्होंने कहा, यह लड़की आगे इतना अधिक नाम करेगी कि बड़े-बड़े निर्माता-निर्देशक उसे अपनी फिल्मों में गाने के लिए गुजारिश करेंगे।

वर्ष 1949 में फिल्म महल के गाने 'आएगा आने वाला' गाने के बाद लता बॉलीवुड में अपनी पहचान बनाने में सफल हो गईं। इसके बाद राजकपूर की 'बरसात' के गाने 'जिया बेकरार है', हवा में उड़ता जाए जैसे गीत गाने के बाद लता बॉलीवुड में एक सफल पार्श्वगायिका के रूप में स्थापित हो गईं।
सी रामचंद्र के संगीत निर्देशन में लता ने प्रदीप के लिखे गीत पर एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान एक गैर फिल्मी गीत 'ए मेरे वतन के लोगों' गाया। इस गीत को सुनकर प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू इतने प्रभावित हुए कि उनकी आंखों में आंसू आ गए। लता के गाए इस गीत से आज भी लोगों की आंखें नम हो उठती हैं।
लता की आवाज से नौशाद का संगीत सज उठता था। संगीतकार नौशाद लता के आवाज के इस कदर दीवाने थे कि वे अपनी हर फिल्म के लिए लता को ही लिया करते थे। वर्ष 1960 में प्रदर्शित फिल्म 'मुगले आजम' के गीत 'मोहे पनघट पे' गीत की रिकॉर्डिंग के दौरान नौशाद ने लता से कहा था, मैंने यह गीत केवल तुम्हारे लिए ही बनाया है, इस गीत को कोई और नहीं गा सकता है।
हिन्दी सिनेमा के 'शो मैन' कहे जाने वाले राजकपूर को सदा अपनी फिल्मों के लिए लता मंगेशकर की आवाज की जरूरत रहा करती थी। राजकपूर लता की आवाज के इस कदर प्रभावित थे कि उन्होंने लता मंगेशकर को 'सरस्वती' का दर्जा तक दे रखा था। साठ के दशक में लता मंगेशकर पार्श्वगायिकाओं की महारानी कही जाने लगीं।
वर्ष 1969 में लक्ष्मीकांत प्यारेलाल के संगीत निर्देशन में लता मंगेशकर ने फिल्म 'इंतकाम' का गाना 'आ जानें जा' गाकर यह साबित कर दिया कि वह आशा भोसले की तरह पाश्चात्य धुन पर भी गा सकती हैं। नब्बे के दशक तक आते-आते लता कुछ चुनिंदा फिल्मों के लिए ही गाने लगीं। वर्ष 1990 में अपने बैनर की फिल्म 'लेकिन' के लिए लता ने 'यारा सिली सिली' गाना गाया। हालांकि यह फिल्म चली नहीं, लेकिन आज भी यह गाना लता के बेहतरीन गानों में से एक माना जाता है।
लता को उनके सिने करियर में चार बार 'फिल्म फेयर पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया है। लता को उनके गाए गीत के लिए वर्ष 1972 में फिल्म 'परिचय', वर्ष 1975 में 'कोरा कागज' और वर्ष 1990 में फिल्म 'लेकिन' के लिए नेशनल अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित की गईं। इसके अलावा लता को वर्ष 1969 में पदमभूषण, वर्ष 1989 में दादा साहब फाल्के सम्मान, वर्ष 1999 में पदमविभूषण, वर्ष 2001 में 'भारत रत्न' जैसे कई सम्मान प्राप्त हो चुके हैं।
