- ज़ुबैर अहमद (वियतनाम)
पिछले दिनों वियतनाम के दौरे पर था। एक चीज़ जो भारत से एकदम जुदा नज़र आयी, वो थी महिलाओं के लिए अलग से सुरक्षित सीटें न होना। बस अड्डों और हवाई अड्डों पर महिलाओं की कोई अलग लाइन नहीं होती। सार्वजनिक जगहों पर भी उनके लिए कोई विशेष इंतज़ाम नहीं दिखते।
मैंने जब स्थानीय लोगों से इसका ज़िक्र किया तो उन्हें हैरानी हुई। एक ने कहा, 'हम एक हैं तो उनके लिए अलग से लाइन या सुरक्षित सीटें क्यों?'
औरतों को बराबरी का दर्जा देता है वियतनाम
वियतनाम में घूमते समय एक बात सबसे पहले ध्यान खींचती है, वो है मर्द और औरतों में बराबरी। महिलाएं हर जगह उतनी ही सक्रिय नज़र आती हैं जितने मर्द। वो दुकानें चलाती हैं। फ़ुटपाथ पर स्ट्रीट फ़ूड बेचती हैं। रेस्टोरेंट और कहवाखानों में भी मर्द के शाना-बशाना काम करते दिखाई देती हैं।
दफ़्तरों में भी महिलाएं भरपूर संख्या में काम करती दिखाई देती हैं। खेल के मैदान में भाग लेती नज़र आती हैं। स्कूलों में लड़कों के बराबर संख्या में मौजूद हैं, साथ ही राजनीति में भी उनका पूरा दखल है।
वियतनाम में महिलाएं हर जगह सुरक्षित महसूस करती हैं। देर रात तक बाहर काम करना कोई मुद्दा नहीं है। उन्हें इस बात का डर नहीं सताता कि कोई उन पर हमला कर सकता है।
सेहतपसंद हैं वियतनाम के लोग
वियतनाम आम तौर पर दुनिया के उन देशों में गिना जाता है जहां अपराध दर बहुत कम है। बलात्कार और महिलाओं के ख़िलाफ़ छेड़खानी हुई तो ये बड़ी ख़बर बनती है क्योंकि ऐसे अपराध कम होते हैं।
वियतनाम में भी औरतें अपने परिवारों के सुख के लिए कोशिश करती रहती हैं। घरों के अंदर भी वे उतनी ही मेहनत करती हैं जितनी घर के बाहर। यूं तो वियतनाम में फ़ास्ट फ़ूड न के बराबर है। स्वस्थ खाना खाने के कारण लोग आम तौर से सेहतमंद हैं लेकिन महिलाओं को मैंने ज़्यादा स्वस्थ पाया।

जंग में भी बढ़-चढ़कर हिस्सा लिया
वियतनाम युद्ध के दौरान महिलाओं ने अमेरिकी सेना का डट कर मुक़ाबला किया था। बीस साल चले इस युद्ध में लाखों महिलाओं ने क़ुरबानी दी। वियतनाम की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी ने महिलाओं को जंग में शामिल होने के लिए बेहतरीन ट्रेनिंग दी।
जंग ख़त्म होने के बाद सरकारी नौकरियों में उनके लिए सीटें सुरक्षित की गईं ताकि राष्ट्र निर्माण में उनका योगदान कम न हो। वियतनाम का समाज भी बच्चों को तरजीह देता है लेकिन बच्ची पैदा हुई तो उसके ख़िलाफ़ भेदभाव नहीं होता।
देश में महिलाओं की आबादी 49 प्रतिशत है और आने वाले सालों में उनकी संख्या मर्दों से ज़्यादा होने की भविष्यवाणी की गई है।
वियतनामी महिलाओं ने बराबरी के लिए लंबा संघर्ष किया
लेकिन ऐसा नहीं है कि वियतनाम में महिलाओं के साथ हमेशा से बराबरी का सलूक किया जाता था। उन्हें अपने अधिकार हासिल करने के लिए संघर्ष करना पड़ा। उन्होंने 1930 में वियतनाम महिला संघ बनाया जिसने उनके पक्ष में और उनके अधिकारों के लिए लड़ाई की।
भारत की तरह वियतनाम की आधी से अधिक आबादी युवा है जिसमें लड़कियों की संख्या लड़कों के बराबर है। मैं एक कॉल सेंटर गया जहाँ 80 प्रतिशत काम करने वाली महिलाएं थीं।
चीन के शासन ने बदली थी समाज की तस्वीर
वियतनाम के बुज़ुर्गों से बात करने के बाद पता चला कि प्राचीन वियतनाम एक मातृसत्तात्मक समाज था जहाँ औरतों की ज़्यादा चलती थी। लेकिन 1000 सालों तक चीन के शासन में रहने के बाद देश में पुरुष वर्चस्व को बढ़ावा मिला। वे बताते हैं कि अब माहौल वापिस औरतों के पक्ष में बनने लगा है। मुझे भी ऐसा ही महसूस हुआ।
क्या भारत का समाज इससे सीख लेगा?
