मेजर डीपी सिंह भारतीय सेना के एक रिटायर्ड अधिकारी हैं। सिंह कारगिल युद्ध के 'हीरो' हैं। कारगिल की लड़ाई में सिंह बहादुरी से लड़ते हुए अपना पैर गंवा बैठे थे। भारत प्रशासित कश्मीर के पुलवामा ज़िले में 14 फ़रवरी को सीआरपीएफ़ पर हुए हमले के बाद टीवी चैनलों की उन्मादी बहस से अलग मेजर सिंह ने अपने अनुभव फ़ेसबुक पर साझा किए हैं। पढ़िए, उन्हीं के शब्दों में-
हम शहीदों और उनके परिवारों के साथ खड़े हैं। हमें इस क्रूरता के लिए ज़रूर बदला लेना चाहिए। कुछ दिन बाद सब कुछ सामान्य हो जाएगा और अभी जो लोगों में उफ़ान है वो भी सामान्य हो जाएगा। सियासी पार्टियों, मीडिया घरानों और आम लोगों के बीच भी सब कुछ सामान्य हो जाएगा। जिन्होंने अपनी ज़िंदगी गंवा दी उनके परिवारों का दर्द कोई नहीं समझ सकता। एक सैनिक हंसते हुए तिरंगा, वतन और उसकी इज़्ज़त के लिए सब कुछ न्योछावर कर देता है।
लेकिन कुछ सवाल ऐसे हैं जिनकी तादाद वक़्त के साथ बढ़ती ही जा रही है। क्या हम कुछ ऐसा कर रहे हैं जिससे पूरे सिस्टम में कुछ सुधार हो सके?
शुक्रवार की सुबह मैं एक न्यूज़ चैनल पर था। मैं उस डिबेट में भावनाओं और बड़बोलेपन से ज़्यादा तर्क रखने की कोशिश कर रहा था। टीवी एंकर ने एक टिप्पणी की। उसने कहा, ''शायद आपने पुलवामा की तस्वीरें नहीं देखीं हैं इसलिए आप इस बात से सहमत नहीं हैं कि इसका एक ही समाधान है- प्रतिशोध।"
अब मैं इन चीज़ों से ऊपर उठ गया हूं और मेरे लिए यह हैरान करने वाला नहीं होता है कि एक महिला कुछ ज़्यादा ही ज़ोर देकर कह रही है। उसे नहीं पता होगा कि मैं कुछ साल पहले ही एक युद्ध में ज़ख़्मी हुआ था। जो वो डिबेट में मेरा परिचय करा रही थी तो वो इस बात से अनजान थी कि मैं रैंक वन मेजर रहा हूं।
मैंने उस महिला को जवाब में कहा, ''एक सैनिक हमेशा तिरंगे के लिए अपनी जान दांव पर लगाने के लिए तैयार रहता है। लेकिन इसके साथ ही हमें ये भी जानना चाहिए कि वक़ास कमांडो (पुलवामा का आत्मघाती चरमपंथी) बनने की तुलना में डबल सेना मेडल और अशोक चक्र पाने वाला कश्मीरी युवक लांस नायक नज़ीर वानी हमारे लिए ज़्यादा प्रेरणादायक है। हमें इस मोर्चे पर भी कोशिश करने की ज़रूरत है। अगर एक पागल पड़ोसी मेरे घर में घुस मेरे युवाओं को भड़काता है और हम इसे रोकने में नाकाम हैं तो कहीं न कहीं हम ग़लत हैं।"
40 परिवार बर्बाद हुए हैं और हम समाधान की तरफ़ नहीं बढ़ते हैं तो भविष्य में और परिवार बर्बाद होंगे। जब आप प्रतिशोध के लिए चीख रहे होते हैं तो कृपया दूसरे परिवारों, अभिभावकों, पत्नियों और बच्चों से पूछिए कि क्या वो उन हीरो सैनिकों यानी अपने पति, अपने पिता और अपने बेटे के बिना जीने के लिए तैयार हैं?

जब तक अगली पीढ़ी सकारात्मक रूप से चीज़ों को नहीं समझेगी तब तक कोई बदलाव नज़र नहीं आता है। हमला, बदला, उनका प्रतिशोध और हमारा बदला जारी है। मुझे उस महिला एंकर को तार्किक बनाने में थोड़ी कोशिश करनी पड़ी और इसके बाद पूरा पैनल मेरी भाषा बोलने लगा।
टीवी एंकर्स और ख़ास करके उस महिला जैसी टीवी एंकर्स अपनी बात आपके मुंह में ठूंसने की कोशिश करते हैं ताकि हम उनसे सहमत हो जाएं। इन्हीं के सुर में कई भोले लोग चीख़ने लगते हैं और बकवास बातों पर सहमत होने लगते हैं। कोई कल्पना नहीं कर सकता है कि ज़िंदगी ख़त्म होने का क्या मतलब होता है।
इसके बाद आप अदलातों में इंसाफ़ और मुआवजे के लिए चक्कर लगाते रहिए। हम चाहते हैं कि सैनिक मर जाएं लेकिन उसकी विधवा को बकाए और पेंशन के लिए के लिए दर-दर भटकना पड़ता है। कुछ लोगों को तो प्रमाण देना पड़ता है कि उनका पति शहीद हुआ था। उन्हें कहा जाता है कि शव नहीं मिला है और आप शव लाएं।
हम चाहते हैं कि सैनिक मरें लेकिन ज़ख़्मी अवस्था में पेंशन के लिए मुझे सात साल की लड़ाई लड़नी पड़ी और साबित करना पड़ा कि मैं युद्ध में घायल हुआ था। अदालतों में सैकड़ों मामले पैंडिंग हैं।
मेजर नवदीप सिंह और सांसद राजीव चंद्रशेखर के साथ मेरी आख़िरी मुलाक़ात मैडम रक्षा मंत्री से हुई थी। उन्होंने वादा किया था कि जनवरी के आख़िर तक युद्ध में घायल होने के बाद विकलांग हुए सैनिकों के ख़िलाफ़ अनावश्यक अपील वापस ली जाएंगी। जनवरी ख़त्म हो गई और वादा वहीं है। मुक़दमें अब भी चल रहे हैं।
लोग चाहते हैं कि सैनिक मरें लेकिन उनके बच्चों की शिक्षा के लिए मिलने वाले भत्ते ख़त्म कर दिए जाएं क्योंकि सरकार को ये बोझ लगने लगता है। हमने इसके लिए भी लड़ाई लड़ी और लगा कि रक्षा मंत्री हमारे साथ खड़ी होंगी। दिलचस्प है कि वो भी महिला हैं पर विधवाओं का दर्द नहीं समझ पा रहीं। हमने हाल ही में एचएएल मामले को देखा है।
हम चाहते हैं कि सैनिक मरें लेकिन जब उनके अपनों को बचाने की बात आती है तो उनके ख़िलाफ़ केस कर दिया जाता है क्योंकि उसने पत्थरबाज को जीप पर बांधकर बैठाया था। यह लिस्ट अंतहीन है। ज़िंदगियों का उपहास मत उड़ाइए। अपने कारोबार को चमकाने के लिए भावनाओं से मत खेलिए।
भारतीय सेना और सीआरपीएफ़ को पता है कि क्या करना है और कब करना है। अतीत में सेना ने ख़ुद को दिखाया है। उसे स्थिति से निपटना आता है। कृपया आप हमें ना बताएं कि हमें क्या करना है। लेकिन इन सबके बावजूद सबको बोलने का अधिकार है। और इसका ध्यान कौन रखता है कि सैनिको गुमनामी में छोड़ दिया जाता है।
