शोमा चौधरी (वरिष्ठ पत्रकार)
त्रिपुरा में 25 साल बाद वामपंथ का किला फतह कर भाजपा चुनाव जीतने में कामयाब रही। इस जीत की खुशी को कुछ वक्त ही गुज़रा था कि त्रिपुरा के बेलोनिया इलाके में लेनिन की मूर्ति को ढहाने की तस्वीरें और वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो गईं।
इसके बाद तमिलनाडु के वेल्लूर ज़िले में पेरियार की मूर्ति को नुक़सान पहुंचाने की खबरें भी आने लगीं। इतना ही नहीं कोलकाता में श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी की एक मूर्ति पर काली स्याही पोत दी गई। पिछले कुछ दिनों में देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में हुई इन घटनाओं के पीछे आखिर कौन-सी मानसिकता काम कर रही है और राजनीति का इसमें कितना हाथ है, पढ़िए वरिष्ठ पत्रकार शोमा चौधरी का नज़रियाः
सभ्यता के नाम पर जंग
मूर्तियों को इस तरह से नुक़सान पहुंचाना बहुत ही गंभीर बात है क्योंकि ये सिर्फ चुनाव की राजनीति नहीं है, यह समाज और सभ्यता के नाम पर एक जंग की तैयारी हो रही है। इनकी सोच में बहुत-सी चीजें हैं जो हमारे संविधान से मेल नहीं खातीं। इनकी सोच में है कि जो भी सोच देश के बाहर से आई है उसके लिए भारत में कोई जगह नहीं है। वो समझते हैं कि भारतीय सभ्यता में वामपंथी सोच की कोई जगह नहीं है। इन्हें इतिहास की बहुत कम जानकारी है और आज हम इसी का नतीजा देख रहे हैं।
मूर्तियों को तोड़ना या भीड़ के ज़रिए किसी को मारना आम जनता के बीच इस तरह की घटनाएं बढ़ती जा रही हैं। मुझे नहीं लगता कि यह सिलसिला जल्दी थमने वाला है। तब तक, जब तक विपक्ष में कोई ताकत नहीं आती। हमारी पूरी राजनीति एक पार्टी की तरफ जा रही है और इस पार्टी की चुनावी ताकत इतनी मज़बूत है कि विपक्ष इसके सामने बिलकुल मज़बूत नहीं दिखता।
लोकतंत्र में जब तक राजनीतिक दलों के पास ताकत नहीं रहेगी तब तक इन सभी घटनाओं को रोक पाना बहुत मुश्किल है। मुझे लगता है अभी तो यह सिर्फ शुरुआत है कुछ दिनों में मंदिर-मस्जिद का मुद्दा भी रफ्तार पकड़ेगा। 2019 में चुनाव आने वाले हैं इसलिए मुझे लगता है कि यह सब चीजें अब बस बढ़ती ही जाएंगी।
मूर्तियों का तोड़ना अब इतना बड़ा मुद्दा क्यों?
इससे पहले भी आंबेडकर की मूर्तियों पर हमले हो चुके हैं लेकिन यह इक्का-दुक्का घटनाएं ही थी इसलिए इनकी इतनी चर्चा नहीं होती थी। भारत के बारे में सोच थी कि यहां का समाज बहुत-सी मान्यताओं से मिलकर बना है जिसमें बौद्ध, जैन, इस्लाम, वामपंथ, सूफ़ीवाद आदि सभी शामिल हैं।
वहीं अगर हम भाजपा की बात करें तो इनकी सोच क्षेत्रवाद तक सिमटी हुई है और इनकी चुनावी राजनीति भी इसी बात पर केंद्रित है कि हमें एक हिंदू राष्ट्र चाहिए। इसलिए मूर्तियों के साथ जो जंग चल रही है असल में वह सोच के आधार जंग चल रही एक जंग है। उनका मानना ये है कि इस सोच को ही हम जड़ से उखाड़कर फेंक देंगे। हालांकि तमिलनाडु में पेरियार की मूर्ति को तोड़ने के पीछे कुछ अन्य वजहें भी हो सकती हैं और ऐसा भी हो सकता है कि बीजेपी का इससे कोई लेना देना न हो।

क्या प्रधानमंत्री की निंदा का कोई असर होता है?
मैं अंदाजा नहीं लगाना चाहूंगी कि मोदी जी के मन में क्या है और क्या नहीं। लेकिन मैं प्रमाण के साथ यह कह सकती हूं कि मोदी जी बहुत ही ताकतवर नेता हैं और अपनी पार्टी पर पूरी पकड़ रखते हैं, इनकी सहमति के बिना कुछ चलता नहीं है। अगर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी कुछ आदेश देंगे और यह सभी घटनाएं नहीं रुकेंगी, ऐसा मुझे नहीं लगता है। इसलिए ये निंदा करना दिखावटी लगता है।
हम दोनों बातें एक साथ नहीं मान सकते। वो 56 इंच सीने की बात करते हैं और फिर इन छोटी-छोटी घटनाओं को वो रोक नहीं पा रहे। अपने ही लोगों को नहीं रोक पा रहे और फिर चीन और पाकिस्तान से लड़ने की बात करते हैं।
राज्यपाल की क्या भूमिका?
कभी-कभी मुझे लगता है कि मोदी के प्रशासन का जो एजेंडा था उसमें नौकरशाही पर पकड़ मज़बूत करना और उनकी कार्यक्षमता को बढ़ाना शामिल था। लेकिन इसमें एक ही नेता से बात नहीं बनेगी, उन्हें और भी लोग चाहिए जो उनकी तरह ही सोचते हों और उनकी कार्यक्षमता भी ऐसी ही हो।
लेकिन ये जो घटनाएं हुई हैं इसके लिए कोई व्यवस्था नहीं बदलनी है इसमें तो यह देखना है कि आप कैसा वातावरण पैदा कर रहे हैं, राजस्थान से लेकर त्रिपुरा तक आम आदमी को लग रहा है कि वो हथियार उठा सकते हैं।
इतना हिंसा भरा वातावरण तैयार कर दिया है कि लोगों को लग रहा है कि हम मूर्तियां तोड़ सकते हैं, दूसरों का कत्ल कर सकते हैं, किसी को जला सकते हैं, उसका वीडियो इंटरनेट पर डाल सकते हैं, अपना मुंह बिना छिपाए गर्व से कह सकते हैं कि हम लोगों की जान ले रहे हैं।
हिंसा का हौसला कहां से मिल रहा है?
ऐसा कभी नहीं होगा कि मोदी जी या अमित शाह खुद हथियार उठाकर रास्ते में आएंगे। लेकिन वो कैसा माहौल पैदा होने दे रहे हैं और लोगों को क्या-क्या बोलने दे रहे हैं, अपने मंत्रियों को क्या बोलने दे रहे हैं, ये सभी चीजें एक माहौल से पैदा हो रही हैं। इसलिए मैं इसे मोदी जी और अमित शाह की जिम्मेदारी मानूंगी कि वो ये सब क्यों नहीं रोक पा रहे। अगर इनकी ये हिंसा रोकने की नीयत होती तो ज़रूर रोक पाते।
अगर गृहमंत्री को सच में ही लेनिन की मूर्ति टूटने पर इनता अधिक बुरा लगा तो वो इसे रोकते क्यों नहीं? अगर आप इन्हें नहीं रोक पा रहे हैं फिर तो देश में नेतृत्व क्षमता की बहुत बड़ी कमी है। हम कैसे कह सकते हैं कि ये सबसे मज़बूत पार्टी है जब ये इन घटनाओं को ही नहीं रोक पा रहे हैं? इसमें शासन का दोष नहीं बल्कि नीयत की कमी है?
