वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी ने 2 छक्के और 1 चौका लगाकर 56 रन बनाए जिसकी मदद से इंडिया ने 268/7 का सम्मानजनक स्कोर खड़ा किया। एक ऐसी पिच जिस पर बैटिंग आसान नहीं थी, ये पार स्कोर से कम स्कोर नहीं था और भारत को वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ 125 रनों की जीत मिली।

लेकिन मैच के बाद सोशल मीडिया और पारंपरिक मीडिया पर भी ये चर्चा होने लगी की धोनी की पारी बेहद धीमी थी और उन्हें तेज खेलना चाहिए था।

क्या ये धीमी पारी थी? : एक आंकड़ा देखते हैं जिससे हम अंदाजा लगा सकेंगे कि ये पारी कितनी धीमी या तेज थी। धोनी ने 91 की स्ट्राइक रेट से 56 रन बनाए। ये स्ट्राइक रेट सिर्फ पांड्या के 121 के स्ट्राइक रेट से कम थी। विराट कोहली ने 87 की स्ट्राइक रेट से रन बनाए। धोनी को हटाकर पूरी भारतीय टीम का स्ट्राइक रेट था 87। धोनी ने आखिरी ओवर में 2 छक्के लगाकर स्कोर को 268 तक पहुंचाया।

कोहली ने भी मैच के बाद कहा कि वे सोच रहे थे कि शायद 250 के आसपास का स्कोर होगा लेकिन जिस तरह धोनी ने स्ट्राइक अपने पास रखकर लास्ट ओवर में छक्के लगाए, उससे टीम का स्कोर 270 के करीब आ पाया।
