भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 5 अगस्त को अयोध्या में भगवान राम के मंदिर की आधारशिला रखेंगे। कोरोना महामारी के दौर में हो रहे इस कार्यक्रम के लिए ख़ास तैयारियां की जा रही हैं। पूरा अयोध्या प्रशासन और उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार इस कार्यक्रम की तैयारी में जुटे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने अयोध्या पहुंचकर तैयारियों का जायज़ा भी लिया है।
बीते साल नो नवंबर को सुप्रीम कोर्ट के ऐतिहासिक फ़ैसले के बाद अयोध्या में राम मंदिर के निर्माण का रास्ता साफ़ हो गया था। मंदिर निर्मण के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेशानुसार एक ट्रस्ट गठित गया है जिसने अब 05 अगस्त को आधारशिला रखने का फ़ैसला लिया है।
ये राम मंदिर आंदोलन के अंजाम तक पहुंचने का दिन भी है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी जब अयोध्या में होंगे तो भारत और दुनियाभर के मीडिया के कैमरे उन पर लगे होंगे। लेकिन राम मंदिर आंदोलन के कई किरदार ऐसे भी हैं जो इस कार्यक्रम में मौजूद नहीं रहेंगे।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जब शनिवार 09 नवंबर 2019 को अयोध्या पर फ़ैसला सुनाते हुए ज़मीन का वो हिस्सा हिंदू पक्ष को देने का फ़ैसला किया जहाँ बाबरी मस्जिद थी।
इस फ़ैसले के के तुरंद बाद भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता सुब्रमण्यम स्वामी ने एक ट्वीट करके विश्व हिंदू परिषद के दिवंगत नेता अशोक सिंघल को भारत रत्न दिए जाने की मांग कर डाली।
अशोक सिंघल राम मंदिर आंदोलन के अग्रणी नेता थे और चार साल पहले ही उनका निधन हुआ है। सिंघल 20 साल तक विश्व हिंदू परिषद (विहिप) के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष रहे। माना जाता है कि सिंघल ही वो व्यक्ति थे जिन्होंने अयोध्या विवाद को स्थानीय ज़मीन विवाद से अलग देखा और इसे राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन बनाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई।
सुब्रमण्यम स्वामी ने ट्वीट कर कहा था, ''जीत की इस घड़ी में हमें अशोक सिंघल को याद करना चाहिए। नमो सरकार को उनके लिए तत्काल भारत रत्न की घोषणा करनी चाहिए।''

लेकिन राम मंदिर आंदोलन में 1990 के दशक में बीजेपी के पूर्व राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष लालकृष्ण आडवाणी सबसे प्रमुख चेहरा बने इसीलिए जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट का फ़ैसला आया था तो केंद्र में बीजेपी की सहयोगी पार्टी शिव सेना के मुखिया उद्धव ठाकरे ने कहा था कि वो आडवाणी से मिलने जाएंगे और उन्हें बधाई देंगे, "उन्होंने इसके लिए रथ यात्रा निकाली थी। मैं निश्चित रूप से उनसे मिलूंगा और उनका आशीर्वाद लूंगा।"
आडवाणी को धन्यवाद देने वालों में उद्धव अकेले नहीं थे। बीजेपी की वरिष्ठ नेता उमा भारती ने ट्वीट कर अशोक सिंघल और आडवाणी का अभिनंदन किया । उमा भारती अदालत का निर्णय आने के तुरंत बाद आडवाणी से मिलने उनके घर गईं थीं, वहां उन्होंने मीडिया से कहा था, "आज आडवाणी जी के सामने माथा टेकना ज़रूरी है।"
उन्होंने ट्वीट कर कहा था, "लालकृष्ण आडवाणी जी का अभिनंदन जिनके नेतृत्व में हम सब लोगों ने इस महान कार्य के लिए अपना सर्वस्व दांव पर लगा दिया था।"
खुद उमा भारती भी राम मंदिर आंदोलन से जुड़ी थीं और राजनीति में प्रवेश के बाद मध्य प्रदेश की मुख्यमंत्री भी रहीं और बीजेपी से बग़ावत की और फिर बीजेपी में लौट आईं और नरेंद्र मोदी के पहले कार्यकाल में मंत्री भी रहीं।
सवाल उठता है कि राम मंदिर के मामले में किसी एक को कैसे श्रेय दिया जाए क्योंकि इसके कई चेहरे रहे हैं।
नवंबर में आए सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फ़ैसले से पहले अयोध्या मामला कई पड़ावों से होकर गुज़रा और अब राम मंदिर का निर्माण शुरू होने जा रहा है। राम मंदिर आंदोलन में राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ और भाजपा से जुड़े कई वरिष्ठ नेताओं की अहम भूमिका रही है।
ऐसे नेताओं में लालकृष्ण आडवाणी, मुरली मनोहर जोशी, उमा भारती, कल्याण सिंह, विनय कटियार, साध्वी ऋतंभरा, प्रवीण तोगड़िया और विष्णु हरि डालमिया के नाम प्रमुख रहे हैं।
आइए एक नज़र उन लोगों पर डालते हैं जिन्होंने राम मंदिर की मांग को लेकर चले आंदोलन में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाई।
अशोक सिंघल
मंदिर निर्माण आंदोलन चलाने के लिए जनसमर्थन जुटाने में अशोक सिंघल की अहम भूमिका रही। कई लोगों की नजरों में वह राम मंदिर आंदोलन के 'चीफ़ आर्किटेक्ट' थे। वह 2011 तक वीएचपी के अध्यक्ष रहे और फिर स्वास्थ्य कारणों से उन्होंने इस्तीफा दे दिया था। 17 नवंबर 2015 को उनका निधन हो गया।
लालकृष्ण आडवाणी
लाल कृष्ण आडवाणी ने सोमनाथ से अयोध्या तक रथयात्रा शुरू की थी। हालांकि बिहार के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री लालू प्रसाद यादव ने समस्तीपुर ज़िले में उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया था। चार्जशीट के अनुसार, आडवाणी ने छह दिसंबर 1992 को कहा था, ''आज कारसेवा का आख़िरी दिन है।'' आडवाणी के ख़िलाफ़ मस्जिद गिराने की साज़िश का आपराधिक मुक़दमा अब भी चल रहा है।

मुरली मनोहर जोशी
1992 में बाबरी मस्जिद विध्वंस के समय मुरली मनोहर जोशी आडवाणी के बाद बीजेपी के दूसरे बड़े नेता थे। छह दिसंबर 1992 को घटना के समय वह विवादित परिसर में मौजूद थे। गुंबद गिरने पर उमा भारती उनसे गले मिली थीं। वह वाराणसी, इलाहाबाद और कानपुर से सांसद रह चुके हैं। इस समय वह बीजेपी के मार्गदर्शक मंडल में हैं।
कल्याण सिंह
छह दिसंबर 1992 को उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री कल्याण सिंह थे। उन पर आरोप है कि उनकी पुलिस और प्रशासन ने जान-बूझकर कारसेवकों को नहीं रोका। बाद में कल्याण सिंह ने बीजेपी से अलग होकर राष्ट्रीय क्रांति पार्टी बनाई लेकिन वो फिर बीजेपी में लौट आए। कल्याण सिंह का नाम उन 13 लोगों में शामिल था जिन पर मस्जिद गिराने क साज़िश का आरोप लगा था।
विनय कटियार
राम मंदिर आंदोलन के लिए 1984 में 'बजरंग दल' का गठन किया गया था और पहले अध्यक्ष के तौर पर उसकी कमान आरएसएस ने विनय कटियार को सौंपी थी। बजरंग दल के कार्यकर्ताओं ने जन्मभूमि आंदोलन को आक्रामक बनाया। छह दिसंबर के बाद कटियार का राजनीतिक क़द तेजी से बढ़ा। बीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव भी बने। कटियार फ़ैज़ाबाद (अयोध्या) लोकसभा सीट से तीन बार सांसद चुने गए।
साध्वी ऋतंभरा
साध्वी ऋतंभरा एक समय हिंदुत्व की फायरब्रांड नेता थीं। बाबरी मस्जिद विध्वंस मामले में उनके ख़िलाफ़ आपराधिक साज़िश के आरोप तय किए गए थे। अयोध्या आंदोलन के दौरान उनके उग्र भाषणों के ऑडियो कैसेट पूरे देश में सुनाई दे रहे थे जिसमें वे विरोधियों को 'बाबर की आलौद' कहकर ललकारती थीं।
उमा भारती
मंदिर आंदोलन के दौरान महिला चेहरे के तौर पर उनकी पहचान बन कर उभरी। लिब्रहान आयोग ने बाबरी ध्वंस में उनकी भूमिका दोषपूर्ण पाई। उन पर भीड़ को भड़काने का आरोप लगा जिससे उन्होंने इनकार किया था। वह केंद्र की अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी और नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार में मंत्री रहीं। हालांकि वे 2019 के संसदीय चुनावों से अलग रहीं और बीजेपी की जीत के बाद वो मंत्री भी नहीं रहीं।
प्रवीण तोगड़िया
विश्व हिंदू परिषद के दूसरे नेता प्रवीण तोगड़िया राम मंदिर आंदोलन के वक्त काफी सक्रिय रहे थे। अशोक सिंहल के बाद विश्व हिंदू परिषद की कमान उन्हें ही सौंपी गई थी। हालांकि हाल ही में वीएचपी से अलग होकर उन्होंने अंतराष्ट्रीय हिंदू परिषद नाम का संगठन बनाया। प्रवीण तोगड़िया इन दिनों अलग-थलग पड़ गए हैं।
विष्णु हरि डालमिया
विष्णु हरि डालमिया विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के वरिष्ठ सदस्य थे और वह संगठन में कई पदों पर रहे। वह बाबरी मस्जिद ढहाए जाने मामले में सह अभियुक्त भी थे। 16 जनवरी 2019 को दिल्ली में गोल्फ लिंक स्थित उनके आवास पर उनका निधन हो गया।
ये सूची और लंबी है, लेकिन श्रेय चाहे किसी को दिया जाए, एक बात बिल्कुल साफ़ है कि इसने राजनीतिक रूप से हाशिए पर रही बीजेपी को वो राजनीतिक समर्थन दिलाया जिस पर सवार होकर बीजेपी केंद्र में पहले गठबंधन और फिर अपने बूते सरकार बनाने में सफल रही। अब नरेंद्र मोदी बीजेपी का चेहरा हैं।
