हर साल जब भी आईपीएल आता है तो अपने साथ कई रंग लेकर आता है। जैसे विदेशी खिलाड़ियों का देसी रंग में घुलना, स्टेडियम में क्रिकेट के शोर में चीयरलीडर्स का ग्लैमर मिलना, या फिर घरेलू क्रिकेट खेल रहे खिलाड़ियों के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भारत की जर्सी पहनने का ख़्वाब देखना।
आईपीएल में अपने प्रदर्शन के बूते अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भारतीय टीम में जगह पाने की कई खिलाड़ियों की कहानी आप सुनते-पढ़ते रहते हैं। इस बार आईपीएल के 11वें संस्करण में भी श्रेयस अय्यर, पृथ्वी शॉ, शुभमन गिल के सपनों को पंख लगे हैं।
लेकिन जो कहानी हम बताने जा रहे हैं वो ना ही केन विलियमसन या श्रृषभ पंत के आईपीएल में बनाए रनों का विश्लेषण है, ना ही किसी खिलाड़ी के प्रदर्शन पर विशेष टिप्पणी है और ना ही इस बार इंग्लैंड टूर के लिए चुने गए किसी खिलाड़ी की उपलब्धियों का बखान है।
बल्कि ये कहानी आईपीएल की चकाचौंध की है जो ग्लैमर में गुम हो जाती है और आप तक पहुंच नहीं पाती। कहानी उन चीयरलीडर्स की जो हर साल विदेशों से आईपीएल का हिस्सा बनने आती हैं। इनके बारे में बात तो सब करते हैं, लेकिन क्या कभी इनको जानने की कोशिश की है?
इस साल 8 टीमों में से 6 टीमों की चीयरलीडर्स विदेशी मूल की रहीं हैं जबकि चेन्नै सुपर किंग्स और राजस्थान रॉयल्स के चीयरलीडर्स देसी मूल के रहे। जब हमने दिल्ली डेयरडेविल्स की चीयरलीडर्स से बातचीत की तो उन्होंने दिल खोलकर कई बातें बताई जैसे वो इंतज़ार कर रहीं थीं कि कोई उनकी भी बात करे।
कौन हैं ये चीयरलीडर्स?
दिल्ली डेयरडेविल्स की जिन चीयरलीडर्स से हम रूबरू हुए उनमें से चार लड़कियां यूरोप की थीं तो दो ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आई थीं। आईपीएल में ज़्यादातर चीयरलीडर्स यूरोप से आतीं हैं ना की रूस से।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आई कैथरीन ने बताया कि वह पेशे से डांसर हैं और कई देशों में परफ़ॉर्म कर चुकी हैं। हाल ही में वह 6 महीने के लिए मेक्सिको गईं थीं। कैथरीन बताती हैं, "तीन साल की उम्र से ही मुझे डांस के लिए जुनून था और यही जुनून मुझे धीरे-धीरे चीयरलीडिंग की प्रोफ़ेशन तक खींच लाया"
चीयरलीडिंग करते-करते उसने तुड़वा ली पसलियां
लेकिन अगर आप ये सोच रहे हैं कि इस प्रोफ़ेशन में आने के लिए केवल डांस ही एक मापदंड है तो इंग्लैंड के मैनचेस्टर से आई डेन बैटमेन जो बता रही है वो आपको चौंकाने के लिए काफ़ी है। डेन बैटमन कहती हैं, "मैं 11 साल की थी जब मैंने स्कूल में चीयरलीडिंग करना शुरू किया था। स्कूल में चीयरलीडिंग करने के दौरान एक बार मेरी पसलियां टूट गईं थी। मुझे उस चोट से उबरने में काफ़ी वक़्त लग गया था।"
डेन बैटमन बताती हैं कि आईपीएल में सिर्फ़ डांस होता है, लेकिन विदेशों में चीयरलीडर्स को फॉर्मेंशन्स भी बनानी होती हैं जिसके लिए शरीर का लचीला होना बेहद ज़रूरी है। वो कहती हैं कि यह एक स्पोर्ट्स की ही तरह है। हम उनती ही मेहनत और ट्रेनिंग करते हैं जितनी की मैदान पर खेल रहा खिलाड़ी करता है। डेन बताती है कि वो इससे पहले बॉक्सिंग के खेल के लिए भी चीयरलीडिंग कर चुकी हैं।

जब पुरुष हुआ करते थे चीयरलीडर
चीयरलीडिंग का कल्चर अमरीका में सबसे ज़्यादा प्रसिद्ध है। यूरोप में भी होने वाले खेलों में इसका चलन है। आपको ये जानकर हैरानी होगी कि चीयरलीडिंग की शुरुआत अमरीका की यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ मिनिसोटा में हुई थी और इसकी शुरुआत किसी महिला ने नहीं बल्कि पुरुष ने की थी जिनका नाम जॉन कैंपबल था।
यही नहीं, जो चीयर स्क्वॉड उन्होंने बनाया था उसमें सब पुरुष थे। हालांकि 1940 के बाद द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान पुरुषों को युद्ध के लिए सीमा पर जाना पड़ा था जिसके बाद महिलाओं की बतौर चीयरलीडर्स भर्ती होने लगी।
चीयरलीडर्स की सैलरी
ख़ैर इतिहास से आपको वर्तमान में वापस लेकर चलते हैं और अब बात करते हैं चीयरलीडर्स की आमदनी की। आख़िरकार इनकी सैलरी होती कितनी है?
हमने इनकी एजेंसी के एक कर्मचारी से संपर्क किया जिसने हमें बताया कि विदेशों से आई चीयरलीडर्स एजेंसियों के ज़रिए आती हैं और इन्हीं एजेंसियों से क़रार किया जाता है। उन्होंने बताया कि आईपीएल में विदेशी मूल की चीयरलीडर लगभग 1500-2000 पाउंड यानी लगभग एक लाख 80 हज़ार रुपए हर महीने का कमाती हैं। यहां ये बताना भी ज़रूरी है कि यूरोपियन चीयरलीडर्स और किसी और देश से आई चीयरलीडर्स के वेतन में अंतर होता है।
जब हमने चीयरलीडर्स से वेतन पर उनकी राय जाननी चाही तो दिल्ली डेयरडेविल्स की चीयरलीडर एले ने कहा कि जितनी मेहनत वो करतीं हैं और जिस देश से वो आतीं हैं उस हिसाब से उनकी सैलरी से वह असंतुष्ट है।
दर्शकों की नज़रें क्या उन्हें चीरती हैं?
लेकिन सबसे संवेदनशील मामले की तो अभी तक हमने बात ही नहीं की और वो यह कि आख़िरकार वह आईपीएल में चीयरलीडिंग करते दौरान कैसा महसूस करतीं हैं। डेन बेटमैन बताती हैं कि भारत में उन्हें आकर बहुत अच्छा लगता है और यहां उन्हें किसी सेलेब्रिटी जैसा मेहसूस होता है। लोग उनका ऑटोग्राफ़ मांगने आते हैं।
हालांकि दर्शकों को नसीहत देते हुए इंग्लैंड से आईं डेन बेटमैन कहती हैं कि लोगों को ये समझना चाहिए कि हम पोडियम पर डांस करतीं कोई भोग-विलास के लिए बना सामान नहीं हैं। हम लड़कियां हैं जिनका पेशा चीयरलीडिंग है। हमे इंसान की तरह समझा जाए ना की कोई हमारे शरीर पर टिप्पणी करे।
