लोकसभा चुनाव 2019: बीबीसी ने शुरू की रियलिटी चेक सीरीज

भारत में 2019 के लोकसभा चुनावों की आहट साफ़ होती जा रही है। चुनाव की तारीखों की अभी तक घोषणा नहीं हुई है लेकिन राजनीतिक दावों-प्रतिदावों का सिलसिला दिनबदिन तेज़ होता जा रहा है।

बीबीसी न्यूज़ ने ऐसे ही कुछ दावों की पड़ताल की है और इसे हमारे पाठकों के लिए रियलिटी चेक सीरीज़ के तौर पर पेश किया जा रहा है। सोमवार, 25 फरवरी से हम हफ़्ते में पांच दिन छह भारतीय भाषाओं में विशेष रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित करने जा रहे हैं। ये रिपोर्टें हमारी अंग्रेज़ी वेबसाइट पर भी पढ़ी जा सकेंगी।

रियलिटी चेक प्रोजेक्ट

बीबीसी रियलिटी चेक सार्वजनिक जीवन में सक्रिय लोगों, संस्थानों के दावों की पड़ताल करती है। रियलिटी चेक प्रोजेक्ट में ये देखा जाता है कि वे हक़ीक़त की कसौटी पर कितने खरे उतरते हैं और क्या वे झूठ की बुनियाद पर खड़े हैं या फिर भरमाने वाले हैं।

जेमी एंगस ने उस वक़्त कहा था, "ये कहानियां ऐसे विषयों पर हैं जिन पर राजनीतिक पार्टियां भी एकमत नहीं है कि लोग ऐसे विषयों पर हमारी स्वतंत्र विवेचना को तरजीह देते हैं।"

जेमी एंगस ने कहा हमें ऐसी ख़बरें करने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए और इसके लिए संसाधन भी उपलब्ध करवाए जाने चाहिए ताकि हम फ़ेक न्यूज़ से निबट सकें।

पिछले साल नवंबर में बीबीसी के बियोंड फ़ेक न्यूज़ सीज़न के बाद रियलिटी चेक सर्विस की शुरुआत होने जा रही है। बियोंड फ़ेक न्यूज़ सीज़न में हमने फर्जी ख़बरों और डिजिटल लिट्रेसी को लेकर देश भर के स्कूल-कॉलेजों में बच्चों के बीच जाकर कार्यशालाएं आयोजित की थीं।

बीबीसी में भारतीय भाषाओं की प्रमुख रूपा झा कहती हैं, "हम ये उम्मीद करते हैं कि भारत में जिन मुद्दों को लेकर बहस चल रही है, रियलिटी चेक से हम उन्हें समझा पाएंगे और चुनावों के समय हम सूचना के सबसे भरोसेमंद स्रोत बनेंगे।"

बीबीसी रियलिटी चेक सिरीज़ की रिपोर्टें भारतीयों की आजीविका और जीवन को प्रभावित करने वाले मुद्दों की पड़ताल करने वाली होंगी।

महंगाई से लेकर सुरक्षा, स्वच्छता अभियान से लेकर ट्रांसपोर्ट सुविधाओं के बुनियादी ढांचे को लेकर किए गए राजनीतिक दलों के दावों की पड़ताल में बीबीसी रियलिटी चेक सिरीज़ में आंकड़ों के सहारे समझाने की कोशिश की गई है।
