व्हाट्सएप पर एक काल्पनिक वीडियो शेयर किया जा रहा है जिसमें बीबीसी न्यूज़ की ब्रांडिंग के साथ दुनिया में थर्मोन्यूक्लीयर युद्ध की शुरुआत दिखाई गई है। ये वीडियो असली नहीं है लेकिन चिंतित दर्शकों ने बीबीसी से संपर्क किया है। इनमें से कई लोगों को ये ख़बर सच लगी है।
ये वीडियो मूलरूप से यूट्यूब पर शेयर किया था जहां इसे पोस्ट करने वाली मीडिया कंपनी ने स्पष्ट रूप से बताया था कि ये काल्पनिक है। अब ये अकाउंट बंद कर दिया गया है। लेकिन व्हाट्सएप पर ये वीडियो बिना स्पष्टीकरण के शेयर किया जा रहा है और बहुत से लोगों को ये सच लग रहा है।
वीडियो में क्या है?
ये वीडियो बीबीसी न्यूज़रूम के परिचित शॉट से शुरू होता है और चेहरे पर शिकन लिए एक न्यूज़ प्रेजेंटर 'रूस और नैटो के बीच गंभीर घटना' की घोषणा करते हैं।
प्रेजेंटर कहते हैं, "अभी तक स्पष्ट विस्तृत जानकारी नहीं मिली है लेकिन शुरुआती रिपोर्टों से पता चलता है कि रूस के एक टोही विमान पर नैटो बलों के पोत से हमला किया गया है।"
इस रिपोर्ट में आगे बताया गया है कि हालात इतने गंभीर हो गए हैं कि रूसी युद्धपोतों ने नैटो के ठिकानों को निशाना बनाया है और ब्रितानी राजपरिवार को सुरक्षित निकाल लिया गया है। एक आपात प्रसारण में सभी लोगों से घरों के भीतर रहने को कहा गया है और बताया गया है कि थर्मोन्यूक्लीयर युद्ध शुरू हो गया है और जर्मनी के का मैंज़ शहर और फ्रैंकफर्ट का बड़ा हिस्सा तबाह हो गया है।
इस काल्पनिक ख़बर के निर्माण में यूं तो सभी सावधानियां बरती गईं हैं लेकिन इसमें बहुत सी खामियां भी हैं। भले ही बीबीसी की ब्रांडिंग का इस्तेमाल किया गया हो लेकिन फोंट, स्टाइल और लेआउट बहुत अलग है।
यदि आपको किसी बड़े मीडिया संस्थान का कोई वीडियो मिलता है और आपको लगता है कि ये फ़र्ज़ी हैं तो सबसे पहले उस मीडिया संस्थान की वेबसाइट का होमपेज देखें। इस घटना की परिस्थिति में जब थर्मोन्यूक्लीयर युद्ध शुरू हो गया हो और बीबीसी ने उस पर ख़बर प्रसारित कर दी हो तो ऐसा भी होगा कि ये ख़बर बीबीसी की न्यूज़ वेबसाइट पर भी हो और इसे अन्य सूत्रों से भी पुष्ट किया गया हो।

किसने बनाया ये वीडियो?
ये काल्पनिक वीडियो एक आयरिश कंपनी के लिए साल 2016 में बनाया गया था और इसमें अभिनेता मार्क राइस हैं। मार्क राइस ने बीबीसी से कहा, "ये बैंचमार्किंग असेसमेंट ग्रुप नाम की एक कंपनी ने बनाया था जिसका उद्देश्य अपने ग्राहकों का साइकोमेट्रिक परीक्षण करके ये देखना था कि वो आपात स्थिति में कैसी प्रतिक्रिया देंगे।"
वो कहते हैं, यूट्यूब पर प्रकाशित असली वीडियो के साथ ये स्पष्ट रूप से लिखा है कि ये काल्पनिक वीडियो है और वास्तव में असली बीबीसी न्यूज़ जैसा दिख भी नहीं रहा है। इसका उद्देश्य कभी असली लगना नहीं था। वो कहते हैं, "मैंने इसमें एक अभिनेता के तौर पर काम किया था और ये ग्रीन स्क्रीन पर रिकॉर्ड किया गया था। इसके प्रॉडक्शन और एडिटिंग में मेरी कोई भूमिका नहीं थी।"
बीबीसी का क्या कहना है?
गुरुवार सुबह बीबीसी के प्रेस कार्यालय ने ट्वीट कर जानकारी दी कि उसे बड़े स्तर पर साझा की जा रही बीबीसी की नैटो और रूस के बारे में कथित रिपोर्ट के बारे में जानकारी है।
बीबीसी के प्रवक्ता ने लिखा, "ये वीडियो यूट्यूब से आया है जहां पर ये स्पष्टीकरण दिया गया है कि ये काल्पनिक है।" बयान में कहा गया, "हालांकि जब इस वीडियो को शेयर किया गया तब ये स्पष्टीकरण नहीं दिया गया है और इसलिए ही हम ये ट्वीट कर रहे हैं।"
