गुरुवार-शुक्रवार, 10 व 11 नवंबर 2016 को देवउठनी एकादशी है। इस दिन देव प्रबोध उत्सव और तुलसी के विवाह का उत्सव मनाया जाता है। क्षीरसागर में शयन कर रहे श्रीहरि भगवान विष्णुजी को जगाकर उनसे मांगलिक कार्यों की शुरुआत कराने की प्रार्थना की जाती है। घरों में गन्नों के मंडप बनाकर श्रद्धालु भगवान लक्ष्मीनारायण का पूजन कर उन्हें बेर, चने की भाजी, आंवला सहित अन्य मौसमी फल व सब्जियों के साथ पकवान का भोग अर्पित करते हैं।
मंडप में कृष्ण भगवान की प्रतिमा व तुलसी का पौधा रखकर उनका विवाह कराया जाता है। इसके बाद मंडप की परिक्रमा करते हुए भगवान से कुंवारों के विवाह कराने और विवाहितों के गौना कराने की प्रार्थना की जाती है।
कैसे करें पूजन देव एकादशी के दिन-
देवउठनी ग्यारस के दिन ब्रह्म मुहूर्त में जल्दी उठकर स्नान करना चाहिए। इस दिन घर के दरवाजे को पानी से साफ करना चाहिए। फिर चूने व गेरू से अल्पना बनानी चाहिए। गन्ने का मंडप सजाने के बाद देवताओं की स्थापना करना चाहिए। भगवान विष्णु का पूजन करते समय गुड़, रुई, रोली, अक्षत, चावल, पुष्प रखना चाहिए। पूजन में दीप जलाकर देव जागने का उत्सव मनाते हुए 'उठो देव बैठो देव, आपके उठने से सभी शुभ कार्य हों' ऐसा कहना चाहिए।
पूजन में लगने वाली सामग्री- गंगा जल, शुद्ध मिट्टी, कुश, सप्तधान्य, हल्दी, कुमकुम, अक्षत, पंचरत्न, लाल वस्त्र, कपूर, पान, घी, सुपारी, रौली, दूध, दही, शहद, फल, शकर, फूल, नैवेद्य, गन्ने, हवन सामग्री, तुलसी पौधा, विष्णु प्रतिमा।
उपरोक्त सामग्री से भगवान विष्णुजी का पुजन-अर्चन कर सोते देव को जाग्रत करें।
क्यों मनाते हैं देवउठनी एकादशी- पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार देवताओं व जलंधर के बीच युद्ध हुआ था। जलंधर की पत्नी वृंदा पतिव्रता थी, इस वजह से देवता जलंधर को पराजित नहीं कर पा रहे थे। जलंधर को पराजित करने के लिए भगवान युक्ति के तहत जलंधर का रूप धारण कर तुलसी का सतीत्व भंग करने पहुंच गए।
तुलसी का सतीत्व भंग होते ही भगवान विष्णु ने जलंधर को युद्ध में पराजित कर दिया। युद्ध में जलंधर मारा जाता है। तुलसी क्रोधित होकर भगवान विष्णु को पत्थर होने का शाप देती है लेकिन भगवान विष्णु तुलसी को वरदान देते हैं कि वे सदा उनके साथ पूजी जाएंगी। एकादशी के दिन जो श्रद्धालु उनका प्रतीक स्वरूप विवाह करेंगे उन्हें हर प्रकार की संपन्नता और पवित्रता का आशीष मिलेगा।
