અમદાવાદમાં સરખેજથી ચિલોડા સુધીના 44 કિમીના હાઇવે પર સોમવારે કેન્દ્રીય ગૃહમંત્રી અમિત શાહે ગોતા ફ્લાયઓવરથી સોલા સાયન્સસિટી ફ્લાયઓવર સુધીના એલિવેટેડ કોરિડોરનું લોકાર્પણ કર્યું હતું. હવે આ હાઇવે પરથી પસાર થનારા વાહનચાલકોને ટ્રાફિક સમસ્યાથી રાહત મળશે. આ કોરિડોર દેશમાં પાંચમા નંબરનો સૌથી લાંબો એલિવેટેડકોરિડોર છે, જેને અકસ્માત ફ્રી બનાવવા માટે વિશેષ સુવિધાઓ ઊભી કરવામાં આવશે, જેમાં (VMS) વેરિએબલ મેસેજ સાઇન સિસ્ટમ તથા (ATMS) એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ ઊભી કરવામાં આવશે. એનાથી વાહનચાલકોને સ્પીડ, અકસ્માત અને રોડની સ્થિતિ અંગેની માહિતી મળી શકશે. એ ઉપરાંત બ્રિજની નીચે પાર્કિંગની સુવિધા, બ્રિજની બંને બાજુ રેમ્પની વ્યવસ્થા પણ ઊભી કરવામાં આવશે.

4.18 કિમીના એલિવેટેડ કોરિડોર પર આ સુવિધાઓ હશે
સરખેજથી ચિલોડા સુધીના કુલ 44 કિમી લાંબા હાઇવે પર તૈયાર થયેલા 4.18 કિમીના એલિવેટેડ કોરિડોરની નીચે બાગાયત ઉછેર, ગ્રેડ સેપરેટર અને આઈલેન્ડની સુવિધા ઊભી કરવામાં આવશે. એ ઉપરાંત કોન્ક્રીટ ક્રેશ બેરિયર્સ, મેટલ બીમ ક્રેશ બેરિયર્સ અને ફૂટપાથની પણ વ્યવસ્થા કરવામાં આવશે. બ્રિજની નીચે સર્વિસ રોડ તથા વરસાદી પાણીના નિકાલ માટે ગટરની વ્યવસ્થા પણ કરાશે. ગાંધીનગર સોલા સિવિલ હોસ્પિટલ અને હાઈકોર્ટ જવા માટે તેમજ સોલા સિવિલ હોસ્પિટલ તથા હાઈકોર્ટથી ગાંધીનગર તરફ જવા માટે અનુક્રમે ઊતરતા અને ચઢતા રેમ્પ પણ બનાવવામાં આવશે.
શું છે એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ? (ATMS)
સરખેજથી છેક ચિલોડા સુધીના હાઈવે પર 13માંથી 7 ફ્લાયઓવર કાર્યરત થઇ ચૂક્યા છે. હવે પાંચ બનવાના બાકી છે ત્યારે આ તમામ કામ પૂર્ણ થયા બાદ વાહનચાલકો નોનસ્ટોપ ચિલોડા સુધી જઈ શકશે. એ ઉપરાંત સરખેજથી ગાંધીનગર પણ નોનસ્ટોપ જઈ શકાશે. ત્યારે આ હાઈવે પર ટ્રાફિક અને અકસ્માત સહિતની જાણકારી માટે એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ ઊભી કરવામાં આવશે. એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ વાહનચાલકોને બદલાતા હવામાનની જાણકારી આપશે. હાઈવે પર ટ્રાફિક અને અકસ્માતની રિયલ ટાઈમ માહિતી આપશે, જેનાથી વાહનચાલકો તેમના વાહનની સ્પીડને કંટ્રોલ કરી શકશે તથા રોડની સ્થિતિની તાજી જાણકારી મેળવી શકશે. હાઈવે પર વાહનચાલકોએ કેટલી સ્પીડે વાહન ચલાવવું એનું ઈન્ડિકેટર પણ આ સિસ્ટમ બતાવશે. ઓવર સ્પીડે પસાર થતાં વાહનો પર ઓટોમેટિક નંબર પ્લેટ રીડરથી નજર પણ રાખી શકાશે.
શું છે વેરિએબલ સાઇન સિસ્ટમ? (VMS)
મોટા ભાગના નેશનલ હાઇવે અને એક્સપ્રેસ હાઇવે પર વેરિએબલ સાઇન સિસ્ટમ ગોઠવેલી હોય છે. આ સિસ્ટમ પરથી વાહનચાલકોને સ્પીડ લિમિટ, સોશિયલ ઈવેન્ટ્સની જાણકારી એક LED સ્ક્રીન દ્વારા મળશે. હાઇવે પર લગાવવામાં આવેલી LED લાઈટના વિવિધ રંગોથી વાહનચાલકોને રોડ પર થનારી અકસ્માત, ટ્રાફિકજામ અને કોઈ મોટી દહેશત થઈ હશે તો એની પણ જાણકારી મળી શકશે. આ લાઈટમાં ખાસ કરીને લાલ, સિલ્વર અને લીલા કલરના માધ્યમથી વાહનચાલકોને વિવિધ પ્રકારની સાવચેતી મળી રહેશે.

સમગ્ર દેશમાં મોટા હાઇવે પર એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ
નેશનલ હાઇવે ઓથોરિટી ઓફ ઈન્ડિયાએ સમગ્ર દેશમાં નવા તૈયાર થઈ રહેલા એલિવેટેડ કોરિડોર તથા એક્સપ્રેસ હાઈવે પર એડવાન્સ ટ્રાફિક મેનેજમેન્ટ સિસ્ટમ તથા વેરિએબલ સાઇન સિસ્ટમ લગાવવાનો આદેશ કર્યો છે. નેશનલ હાઈવે ઓથોરિટી ઓફ ઈન્ડિયા અનુસાર, સમગ્ર દેશના સૌથી મોટા કોરિડોર પર અકસ્માતોના 4500 બ્લેક સ્પોટ અને નેશનલ હાઈવે પર 2500 જેટલા બ્લેક સ્પોટ છે. આ પ્રકારની સિસ્ટમ હાઈવે પર લગાવવાથી લોકોને અગાઉથી જ વાહનની સ્પીડ લિમિટ કરવાની જાણ થશે અને અકસ્માતો અગાઉથી જ અટકાવી શકાશે, જેનાથી અકસ્માતોમાં થતી જાનહાનિ અટકાવી શકાશે.
