એક્ટર ડાયરેક્ટર પ્રોડ્યૂસર જીતેન્દ્રનો આજે જન્મદિવસ છે. સૌ પ્રથમ બોલીવુડના આ જંપિગ જેકને જન્મદિવસની હાર્દિક શુભકામના.. 7 એપ્રિલ 1942ના રોજ પંજાબના અમૃતસરમાં જીતેન્દ્રનો જન્મ થયો હતો. આવો જાણીએ પોતાના જમાનાના હેંડસમ હંક રહેલા જીતેન્દ્દ્ર વિશે કેટલીક ખાસ વાતો..

1. જીતેન્દ્રનુ અસલી નામ રવિ કપૂર છે. અને ડાયરેક્ટર વી શાંતારામે તેમને જીતેન્દ્ર નામ આપ્યુ હતુ.

2. જીતેન્દ્રના પિતા ઈમીટેશન જવેલરીનુ કામ કરતા હતા અને આ જ કારણે એકવાર જ્યારે તેઓ પોતાના પુત્ર જીતેન્દ્ર સાથે જાણીતા નિર્દેશક વી શાંતારામ પાસે ગયા તો તેમણે કહ્યુ કે તમારો પુત્ર એક્ટર બની શકે છે બસ ત્યાબાદ વી શાંતારામે 1959ની ફિલ્મ નવરંગમાં સંધ્યાના ડબલ રોલમાં જીતેન્દ્રને કાસ્ટ કર્યો.

3. જીતેન્દ્ર અને હેમામાલિનીના પ્રેમની ચર્ચા બોલીવુડમાં ફેમસ છે. બંનેના લગ્ન થતા થતા રહી ગયા હતા. આપણે એ જાણીને નવાઈ લાગશે કે હેમામાલિની પછી જીતેન્દ્રની દિલમાં કોઈએ વસ્યુ હોય તો એ હતી શ્રીદેવી. જીતેન્દ્રના કહેવાથી જ શ્રીદેવીને ફિલ્મ હિમંતવાલામાં લેવામાં આવી. આ ફિલ્મ હિટ થતા આ બોલીવુડની હૉટ કે બની ગઈ. ટૂંક સમયમાં જ બંન્નેના પ્રેમની ચર્ચા થવા માંડી. જીતેન્દ્રએ જેવો પોતાના પ્રેમનો એકરાર કર્યો તો વાત તેમની પત્ની શોભા કપૂર સુધી પહોંચી ગઈ.

ત્યારબાદ શોભાનો ધૈર્ય જવાબ આપી ગયો અને બંને વચ્ચે તનાવ વધી ગયો. આ તનાવને દૂર કરવા જ્યારે જીતેન્દ્રએ શ્રીદેવીને પોતાના ઘરે બોલાવીને પોતાની પત્ની સાથે મુલાકાત કરાવી તો શોભા કપૂર અને પુત્રી એકતા કપૂરે તેમની એવી ખાતિરદારી કરી જે શ્રીદેવી વર્ષો પછી પણ ભૂલી શકી નહી હોય.

4. જીતેન્દ્ર જ એકમાત્ર એવા અભિનેતા છે જેમણે 200થી વધુ ફિલ્મો લીડ રોલમાં કરી છે. આ ઉપરાંત શ્રીદેવી અને જયા પ્રદા સાથે જીતેન્દ્રએ વધુમાં વધુ ફિલ્મો કરી છે.

5. ફિલ્મો સાથે જીતેન્દ્ર ટીવી પર પણ જોવા મળ્યા. તેમણે ક્યૂકિ સાસ ભી કભી બહુ થી સીરિયલ ટીવી રિયાલીટી શો ઝલક દિખલા જા અને ડાંસિગ ક્વીનમાં પણ કામ કર્યુ.

6 જીતેન્દ્ર જાણીતા પ્રોડ્યૂસર એકતા કપૂર અને એક્ટર તુષાર કપૂરના પિતા છે.

7. વર્ષ 1983થી 1988 વચ્ચે જીતેન્દ્ર અને ભપ્પી દાએ 20 ફિલ્મો કરી છે જેમાથી 16 સિલ્વર જુબલી હતી.

8. જીતેન્દ્રની પ્રથમ બ્લોકબસ્ટર ફિલ્મ 1970ની કારવા હતી

9. જીતેન્દ્ર એ શ્રીદેવી સાથે 26 ફિલ્મોમાં કામ કર્યુ છે. જેમાથી 16 ફિલ્મો હિટ રહી. આ ફિલ્મોમાં મવાલી હિમંતવાલા અને તોહફા જેવી ફિલ્મોનો સમાવેશ છે.

10. જીતેન્દ્રએ જ અભિનેતા રાજેશ ખન્નાને ડાયરેક્ટર કે. રાઘવેન્દ્ર રાવ સાથે મેળાપ કરાવ્યો હતો અને પછી રાજેશ ખન્નાને ફિલ્મ નયા કદમ અને માસ્ટરજી બે ફિલ્મોમાં કામ કરવાની તક મળી.

11. જીતેન્દ્ર અને રાજેશ ખન્નાએ એક જ શાળા સેંટ સેબેસ્ટિયન અને કે.સી કોલેજમાં સાથે અભ્યાસ કર્યો હતો.

12. જ્યારે 80ના દસકામાં જીતેન્દ્ર સાઉથના પ્રોડ્યૂસર્સ સાથે કામ કરતા હતા ત્યારે તેમનુ ગ્રુપ જીતેન્દ્ર - બપ્પી કિશોર - આશાના નામથી ફેમસ હતુ.

13. જીતેન્દ્રની ફિલ્મ અગ્નિકાળ ગુજરાતના રાજકોટમાં થયેલી અસલી ઘટનાઓ પર આધારિત હતી.
