લોકસભા ચૂંટણીના પાંચમા તબક્કા માટે સાત રાજ્યોની 51 બેઠક ઉપર મતદાન શરૂ થઈ ગયું છે. આ સાત રાજ્યોમાં બિહાર, પશ્ચિમ બંગાળ, ઉત્તર પ્રદેશ, જમ્મુ અને કાશ્મીર, ઝારખંડ, રાજસ્થાન અને મધ્ય પ્રદેશનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
પશ્ચિમ બંગાળની બરાકપોર
પાંચમાં તબક્કામાં કૉંગ્રેસ અધ્યક્ષ રાહુલ ગાંધી, યૂપીએ (યુનાઇટેડ પ્રોગ્રેસિવ અલાયન્સ)ના અધ્યક્ષા સોનિયા ગાંધી, કેન્દ્રીય ગૃહ મંત્રી રાજનાથસિંહ, સ્મૃતિ ઈરાની, રાજ્યવર્ધનસિંહ રાઠોડ, મહેબૂબા મુફ્તી સહિતના દિગ્ગજોનું રાજકીય ભાવિ ઈવીએમ (ઇલેક્ટ્રોનિક વોટિંગ મશીન)માં સીલ થઈ જશે.
51 બેઠક ઉપર કુલ 674 ઉમેદવાર ચૂંટણીજંગમાં છે. આ તબક્કાનું મતદાન પૂર્ણ થતાં લોકસભાની કુલ 425 બેઠક માટે મતદાન પૂર્ણ થઈ જશે.
પાંચમા તબક્કામાં કુલ આઠ કરોડ 75 લાખ (ચાર કરોડ 63 લાખ પુરુષ તથા ચાર કરોડ 12 લાખ મહિલા) નાગરિકો તેમના મતાધિકારનો ઉપયોગ કરશે.

*પશ્ચિમ બંગાળની બરાકપોર બેઠક ઉપર ભાજપના ઉમેદવાર અર્જુનસિંહે આરોપ મૂક્યો છે કે તેમની ઉપર તૃણમુલ કૉંગ્રેસના કાર્યકરો દ્વારા હુમલો કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
*બસપા સુપ્રીમો માયાવતી તથા ગૃહ મંત્રી રાજનાથસિંહે લખનૌ ખાતે મતાધિકારનો ઉપયોગ કર્યો.
*સોમવારે જમ્મુ અને કાશ્મીરની અનંતનાગ બેઠક હેઠળ આવતાં પુલવામામાં મતદાન ચાલુ. તા. 14મી ફેબ્રુઆરીના અહીં સેન્ટ્રલ રિઝર્વ પોલીસ ફોર્સના કાફલા ઉપર ઉગ્રવાદી હુમલો થયો હતો, જેમાં 40થી વધુ જવાનોનાં મૃત્યુ થયાં હતાં.
*જયપુર ખાતે કેન્દ્રીય પ્રધાન રાજ્યવર્ધનસિંહ રાઠોડ તથા તેમના પત્નીએ મતાધિકારનો ઉપયોગ કર્યો.

ઍસોસિયેશન ફૉર ડેમોક્રેટિક રિફૉર્મ્સે પાંચમા તબક્કામાં ચૂંટણીજંગમાં ઝંપલાવનારા 674માંથી 668 ઉમેદવારોની ઍફિડેવિટનું વિશ્લેષણ કર્યું હતું.
રાષ્ટ્રીય પક્ષોના 149, પ્રાદેશિક પક્ષોના 31, માન્ય ન હોય તેવા દળોનાં 236 તથા 252 અપક્ષ ઉમેદવારોએ ચૂંટણીજંગમાં ઝંપલાવ્યું છે.
પાંચમા તબક્કામાં કુલ 79 મહિલા ઉમેદવારોએ ચૂંટણીજંગમાં ઝંપલાવ્યું છે.
રિપોર્ટ મુજબ, 668 ઉમેદવારોમાંથી 19 ટકા ઉમેદવારો ઉપર કેસ ચાલી રહ્યાં છે. 14 ટકા ઉમેદવારો ઉપર ગંભીર પ્રકારના કેસ ચાલી રહ્યાં છે.
એડીઆરના રિપોર્ટ મુજબ, 28 ટકા ઉમેદવાર કરોડપતિ છે, જ્યારે પાંચમાં તબક્કામાં ઉમેદવારોની સરેરાશ સંપત્તિ રૂ. 2.57 કરોડ છે.
