ફેસબુક અને ટ્વિટ સહિત અન્ય સોશિયલ મીડિયા પ્લેટફોર્મ પર આ તસવીર એવા દાવા સાથે શૅર કરાઈ રહી છે કે પાકિસ્તાનથી ભારત પરત ફરેલા વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદન વર્થમાને ખુલ્લેઆમ ભાજપને સમર્થન આપ્યું છે અને વડા પ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીના પક્ષમાં મતદાન કર્યું છે.
જે લોકોએ સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર આ તસવીરને શૅર કરી છે, તેમણે શબ્દશઃ એક જેવા સંદેશ પોસ્ટ કર્યા છે.
આ સંદેશ છે : "વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનજીએ ખુલ્લેઆમ ભાજપને સમર્થન કર્યું છે અને મત પણ આપ્યો છે મોદીજીને વડા પ્રધાન બનાવવા માટે અને તેમનું કહેવું છે કે વર્તમાન મોદીજી કરતાં વધારે સારા કોઈ વડા પ્રધાન હોઈ શકે નથી. કૉંગ્રેસીઓ તમે કોઈ જવાનને જીવિત પરત ન લાવી શક્યા."
ભારતીય વાયુસેનાના વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનનું મિગ-21 બાઇસન વિમાન 27 ફેબ્રુઆરી 2019ના રોજ ભારત દ્વારા પાકિસ્તાન પર જવાબી કાર્યવાહી દરમિયાન પાકિસ્તાન પ્રશાસિત કાશ્મીરમાં ક્રેશ થઈ ગયું હતું.
ત્યારબાદ અભિનંદનની પાકિસ્તાની સેનાએ ધરપકડ કરી લીધી હતી. પરંતુ બે દિવસ બાદ એટલે કે 1 માર્ચના રોજ તેમને મુક્ત કરી દેવામાં આવ્યા હતા.

લોકસભા ચૂંટણી માટે 11 એપ્રિલના રોજ યોજાયેલા પહેલા તબક્કાના મતદાન બાદ ફેસબુક અને ટ્વિટર પર આવી સેંકડો પોસ્ટ છે જેમાં આ તસવીરને વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનની ગણાવવામાં આવી છે.
'નમો ભક્ત' અને 'મોદી સેના' જેવા દક્ષિણપંથી વલણ ધરાવતા ઘણા મોટા ફેસબુક ગ્રૂપ્સમાં આ તસવીરને શૅર કરવામાં આવી છે.
આ તસવીરની હકીકત જાણવા માટે બીબીસીના વાચકોએ પણ વૉટ્સએપના માધ્યમથી અમને આ તસવીર મોકલી છે.
તસવીરની તપાસમાં જાણવા મળ્યું કે સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર ભારતીય વાયુસેનાના વિંગ કમાન્ડરના નામે જે દાવા કરવામાં આવી રહ્યા છે, તે પાયાવિહોણા છે અને તસવીર અભિનંદન વર્થમાનની નહીં, પણ તેમના જેવી મૂંછ રાખતા બીજા કોઈ શખ્સની છે.
ભારત અને પાકિસ્તાન વચ્ચે હાલ જે તણાવ વધ્યો હતો તે દરમિયાન વાયુ સેનાના વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદન એક નેશનલ હીરો તરીકે લોકો સામે આવ્યા.
તેમના શૌર્ય અને આત્મવિશ્વાસના દરેક વ્યક્તિએ વખાણ કર્યા.

જ્યારે તેઓ પાકિસ્તાનથી ભારત પરત ફર્યા, તો એવા કોઈ રિપોર્ટ આવ્યા હતા કે જેમાં અભિનંદનની મૂંછની સ્ટાઇલનો ઉલ્લેખ હતો અને લોકો તેમના જેવી સ્ટાઇલ અપનાવવાની વાત કરી રહ્યા હતા.
સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર જે તસવીર હવે અભિનંદનના નામે વાઇરલ થઈ રહી છે તેમાં જોવા મળી રહેલા વ્યક્તિની મૂંછોની સ્ટાઇલ અભિનંદન સાથે મળે છે.
પરંતુ આ વ્યક્તિના ગળામાં ભાજપના ચૂંટણી ચિન્હવાળું મફલર બંધાયેલું છે.
અમે આ વાઇરલ તસવીરની સરખામણી જ્યારે વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનની અસલી તસવીર સાથે કરી તો જાણવા મળ્યું કે બન્ને ચહેરામાં ઘણી અસમાનતાઓ છે.
એ વાતની શક્યતા છે કે આ વાઇરલ તસવીર ગુજરાતની છે. કેમ કે તસવીરમાં જે દુકાનનું બૉર્ડ જોવા મળી રહ્યું છે, તેના પર ગુજરાતીમાં લખેલું છે - સમોસા સેન્ટર
પરંતુ ગુજરાતમાં લોકસભા ચૂંટણી માટે મતદાન હજુ સુધી થયું નથી. ગુજરાતમાં 23 એપ્રિલના રોજ મતદાન થશે.
શું કહે છે નિયમ?
પાકિસ્તાનથી મુક્ત થઈને ભારત પરત ફરેલા વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદન વર્થમાન 26 માર્ચ 2019ના રોજ ફરજ પર પરત ફર્યા હતા.
મીડિયા રિપોર્ટ્સના આધારે તેમને ભારત પ્રશાસિત કાશ્મીરના શ્રીનગર સ્થિત સ્ક્વાડ્રૅનમાં તહેનાત કરવામાં આવ્યા છે.
રિપોર્ટ્સના આધારે 'સેવા જૉઇન કર્યા બાદ તેઓ ચાર અઠવાડિયાની સિક લીવ પર છે. સિક લીવ દરમિયાન ચેન્નઈમાં પોતાના ઘરે જવાના બદલે તેમણે શ્રીનગરમાં જ રહેવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. ચાર અઠવાડિયાની રજાઓ બાદ ડૉક્ટરોની એક ટીમ તેમના સ્વાસ્થ્યની તપસા કરશે જ્યારબાદ તેઓ ફરી વિમાન ઉડાવી શકશે.'
અભિનંદન પોતાની એવી ઇચ્છા વ્યક્ત કરી ચૂક્યા છે કે તેઓ ફરી ફાઇટર વિમાનની કૉકપિટમાં પરત ફરવા માગે છે.
આવી સ્થિતિમાં અભિનંદન ભારતીય વાયુસેનાના 'ધ ઍરફૉર્સ રુલ્સ 1969'ને માનવા માટે બાધ્ય છે.
આ નિયમો પ્રમાણે કોઈ પણ ઑફિસર સેવામાં રહીને કોઈ રાજકીય કાર્યક્રમમાં સામેલ થઈ શકતા નથી અને પોતાને કોઈ રાજકીય વિચારધારા સાથે જોડી શકતા નથી.
રક્ષા મંત્રાલયની ઑફિશિયલ વેબસાઇટ પર આ નિયમોને વિસ્તારપૂર્વક વાચી શકાય છે.
'બોગસ તથ્યો ન ફેલાવો'
ભારતીય વાયુસેનાના એક વરિષ્ઠ અધિકારીએ નામ ન જાહેર કરવાની શર્તે બીબીસીને જણાવ્યું કે સૈનિકોના નામે ખોટી અફવાઓ ફેલાવવી ખૂબ અયોગ્ય બાબત છે.
વાઇરલ તસવીરમાં જે વ્યક્તિ દેખાય છે, તેઓ નિશ્ચિતરૂપે વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદન નથી.
આ પહેલી વખત નથી કે જ્યારે વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનના નામે બોગસ સમાચાર ફેલાવવાનો પ્રયાસ કરાયો હોય.
અભિનંદન પાકિસ્તાનથી મુક્ત થયા તેના થોડાં કલાકો બાદ જ તેમના નામે રાજકીય સંદેશ સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર ફેલાવવાનો પ્રયાસ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
તેમના નામે ઘણા બોગસ ટ્વિટર અકાઉન્ટ બનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે.
તેમને ધ્યાનમાં રાખતા ભારતીય વાયુસેનાએ 6 માર્ચ 2019ના રોજ પોતાના એક નિવેદનમાં કહેવું પડ્યું હતું કે વિંગ કમાન્ડર અભિનંદનનું કોઈ સોશિયલ મીડિયા (ફેસબુક, ટ્વિટર કે ઇન્સ્ટાગ્રામ) અકાઉન્ટ નથી.
તેમના નામે ખોટી સૂચનાઓ ફેલાવવામાં ન આવે.
