મુખ્યમંત્રી વિજય રૂપાણીએ જીવનજરૂરી તમામ વસ્તુઓની કોઈ જ અછત ઉભી નહીં થાય તેની પણ ખાતરી આપી છે. વિજય રૂપાણીએ કહ્યું છે કે, જ્યાં સુધી કોઈ કટોકટી ન હોય ત્યાં સુધી ઘર બહાર નીકળવું જ નહીં. જો આવું કરશો તો પસ્તાવાનો વારો આવશે. રૂપાણીએ મીડિયા સાથે વાતચીત કરતા જણાવ્યું કે, "અમેરિકા, જર્મની યૂકે જેવા વિકસિત દેશો પણ કોરોના સામે હાંફી ગયા છે, ત્યારે આપણે ત્યાં પરિસ્થિતિ ગંભીર બની શકે છે. આ માટે ચાલે એમ ન હોય ત્યાં સુધી ક્યાંય બહાર નીકળવું જ નહીં. સામાન્ય રીતે લોકો ફરિયાદ કરતા હોય છે કે અમને પરિવારના લોકો માટે સમય નથી મળતો, તો આ સમય તમારા પરિવારના લોકો સાથે વિતાવો.
જો કોઈ બિનજરૂરી બહાર નીકળશે તો પોલીસને પણ રોકવાની સૂચના આપવામાં આવી છે. આથી કોઇએ કારણ વગર બહાર નીકળવું નહીં." આ સાથે જ મુખ્યમંત્રી વિજય રૂપાણીએ એમ પણ જણાવ્યું હતું કે જીવનજરૂરી વસ્તુઓ જેવી કે શાકભાજી, દૂધ, કરિયાણું વગેરેની કોઈ જ અછત નહીં થાય. તે તમામ પુરવઠો પૂરો પાડવામાં આવશે. મુખ્યમંત્રીએ આ મામલે લોકોને ધરપત આપી છે.
અમદાવાદને લૉકડાઉન કરવામાં આવ્યું છે ત્યારે મ્યુનિસિપલ કમિશનર વિજય નેહરાએ લોકોએ ઘરોમાં જ રહેવાની અપીલ કરી છે. મીડિયાને સંબોધતા નેહરાએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, "શહેરના બજારો, સિનેમાઘરો સહિત તમામ વસ્તુઓ બંધ છે. જે ખૂબ સારી બાબત છે. પરંતુ અમુક લોકો બધુ સામાન્ય હોય તેમ બહાર ફરી રહ્યા છે. લોકો પોતોની જવાબદારી નહીં સમજે તો આપણે તમામ મુશ્કેલીમાં મૂકાઈશું. કટોકટીનો સામનો કરવા માટે આખા શહેરે પૂરી તાકાત લગાવવી પડશે. જો આવું નહીં થાય તો ખૂબ જ કપરા સંજોગો ઉભા થશે."
મ્યુનિસિપલ કમિશનરે વધુમાં જણાવ્યું કે, "શહેરનો દરેક પરિવાર આવતા બે અઠવાડિયા સુધી જ્યાં સુધી જીવન અને મરણનો સવાલ ન હોય ત્યાં સુધી ઘરની બહાર ન નીકળે. કારણ કે તમે ઘરમાં છો ત્યાં સુધી જ સુરક્ષિત છો. પરિવારનો એક પણ સભ્ય બહાર જશે તો ચેપ લઇને આવશે. સમય આવી ગયો છે કે બાળકોને ક્રિકેટ રમવા માટે બહાર ન મોકલીએ. વૃદ્ધો કે વડીલોને મોર્નિંગ વોક માટે ન મોકલીએ. દિવસમાં ઓછામાં ઓછી વખત બહાર નીકળીને જીવનજરૂરી વસ્તુઓ ઘરે લાવીએ. જો સુરક્ષાચક્ર તૂટશે તો આપણે બધા મુશ્કેલીમાં મૂકાઈશું. માતા અને બહેનોને ખાસ વિનંતી કે તેમના પરિવારના સભ્યોને ઘર બહાર ન નીકળવા દે."
