तीन टी-20 मैचों की सीरीज के पहले मैच में मंगलवार को भारत ने यदि इंग्लैंड को उसी के घर में 10 गेंद शेष रहते 8 विकेट से रौंदा है तो इस जीत का असली श्रेय भारत के 'चाइनामैन गेंदबाज' कहे जाने वाले कुलदीप यादव के 'पंजे' और केएल राहुल के नाबाद शतक (101) को दिया जाना चाहिए। कुलदीप ने इस मैच में 142 साल के क्रिकेट इतिहास में एक नया रिकॉर्ड भी अपने नाम दर्ज कर लिया है।

'मैन ऑफ द मैच' कुलदीप ने अपनी स्पिन गेंदबाजी के जाल में पांच उन धुरंधर इंग्लिश बल्लेबाजों का शिकार किया, जिनकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में तूती बोलती है। कुलदीप ने अपनी सटीक लाइन लेंग्थ से 24 गेंदों में 24 रन खर्च करके कप्तान इयोन मोर्गन (7), जोस बटलर 69, जो रूट (0), जॉनी बेयरस्टो (0) और एलेक्स हेल्स (8) को उन्होंने पैवेलियन की राह दिखाई।

यह बना नया रिकॉर्ड : मैच में नाटकीय मोड़ तब आया जब 14वें ओवर में उन्होंने इंग्लैंड के तीन विकेट झटके, जिसमें मोर्गन, बेयरस्टो, जो रूट उनके शिकार हुए और यहीं पर बन गया एक नया रिकॉर्ड। यह पहला अवसर था जब इंग्लैंड के लगातार दो विकेट रूट (0), जॉनी बेयरस्टो बेयरस्टो (0) दो गेंदों पर स्टंप आउट हुए। टी-20 क्रिकेट में इंग्लैंड की इससे पहले इतनी भद कभी नहीं हुई, जितनी इस मैच में हुई।

आईपीएल में 17 विकेट : भारत का इंग्लैंड दौरा काफी लंबा है, जिसमें 2 और टी-20 के अलावा 3 एक दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच और पांच टेस्ट मैचों की सीरीज होनी है। यह दौरा 11 सितंबर तक चलेगा, उम्मीद की जानी चाहिए कि विदेशी जमीं पर कुलदीप जैसे गेंदबाज कई रिकॉर्ड स्थापित करेंगे।

इंग्लैंड दौरे के पूर्व कुलदीप अपनी जादुई गेंदबाजी के दीदार आईपीएल के 11वें संस्करण में करा चुके हैं। कोलकाता नाइटराइडर्स की गेंदबाजी के प्रमुख अस्त्र कुलदीप ने आईपीएल में 16 मैचों में 17 विकेट हासिल किए थे।

2012 के आईपीएल में सचिन को कराते थे नेट प्रैक्टिस : कुलदीप यादव 2012 में मुंबई इंडियंस टीम का हिस्सा हुआ करते थे और जब उन्हें एक भी मैच में खेलने का मौका नहीं मिला, तब उन्होंने आईपीएल में ही करिश्मा करने की ठान ली। उन्हें हमेशा इसका गर्व रहा कि उन्होंने सचिन तेंदुलकर जैसे महान बल्लेबाज को आईपीएल के दौरान नेट प्रैक्टिस कराई।

कोलकाता ने कुलदीप को 66 हजार डॉलर में खरीदा : 2016 में चैंपियंस लीग टी-20 में शानदार प्रदर्शन करने का पुरस्कार उन्हें कोलकाता नाइटराइर्स ने दिया। कोलकाता ने आईपीएल की नीलामी में कुलदीप को 66 हजार डॉलर में खरीदकर अपनी टीम का अहम हिस्सा बना लिया। कुलदीप ने जल्दी ही अपनी 'चाइनामैन' गेंदबाजी का परचम लहराना शुरू कर दिया और उनके मुरीद कोलकाता नाइटराडर्स के सह मालिक शाहरुख खान भी हो गए।

छोटे से गांव से निकलकर बन गए क्रिकेट सितारे : कुलदीप का जन्म 14 दिसंबर 1994 को उत्तरप्रदेश के उन्नाव जिले के छोटे से गांव में हुआ। पिता का ईंट भट्‍टे का कारोबार था लेकिन उन पर तो क्रिकेट का जुनून सवार था। बेटे के क्रिकेट जुनून को देखकर पिता रामसिंह यादव ने कानपुर में बसने का फैसला किया। यही पड़ाव कुलदीप की जिंदगी के नए रास्ते खोल गया।

कई बार कुलदीप की आंखों से आंसू भी टपके : कानपुर में क्रिकेट एकेडमी में कुलदीप को कपिल पांडे कोच के रूप में मिले। कपिल ने कुलदीप को बाएं हाथ से अपारंपरिक गेंदबाजी करने के गुर सिखाए। वे कलाई के उपयोग से 'चाइनामैन' गेंदबाज बन बैठे। हालांकि यह काम मुश्किल हुआ करता था और कई बार कुलदीप की आंखों से आंसू भी टपके, लेकिन ये आंसू आने वाले सुनहरे भविष्य का संकेत दे रहे थे। आखिरकार गांव के इस लड़के को 'चाइनामैन' गेंदबाज की पदवी मिल गई।

अंडर-19 विश्व कप में झटके 14 विकेट : 2014 में कुलदीप अंडर-19 विश्व कप की भारतीय टीम का हिस्सा बने। यूएई में हुए इस विश्व कप में कुलदीप की करिश्माई गेंदबाजी के जलवे को दुनिया ने देखा। 6 मैचों में उन्होंने 14 विकेट लिए। वे इस विश्व कप में सबसे अधिक विकेट लेने वाले तीसरे गेंदबाज थे। यही नहीं, उन्होंने स्कॉटलैंड के खिलाफ 'है‍‍ट्रिक' भी ली थी।

2017 में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ खेला पहला टेस्ट : कुलदीप यादव ने भारतीय टेस्ट टीम की 'कैप' 25 मार्च 2017 को पहनी और धर्मशाला में पहला टेस्ट मैच ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ खेला। उनके पहले शिकार हुए ऑस्ट्रेलिया धाकड़ बल्लेबाज डेविड वॉर्नर। कुलदीप ने 2 टेस्ट मैचों में 187 रन देकर 9, वन-डे में 20 मैचों में 781 रन देकर 39, टी-20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में 11 मैचों में 24 और आईपीएल के 31 मैचों में 35 विकेट हासिल किए हैं।
